Well I decided to check out this local shop the other day since they are supposed to be the best qualified on vettes. After an indepth conversation with the owner, which I was impressed with. I decided to make the appt. and have it done. He did tell me it was going to run between $250-$350, (ouch) and this wasn't going to be your regular $60 laser beam alignment. His machine is one of two Hunter Digital alignment machines in the area. At $72,000 a crack for this unit I can see why it seemed costly for an alignment.
Now I've had this car aligned a couple times at another shop and it never really felt like it should. But I lived with it for many years now.
After 4 hrs of moving shims and setting the front and rear to specs ($314 later) my car handles like an absolute dream. I can let go of the steering wheel and nail the gas and she stays straight as an arrow going down the road. No more constant correction of the wheel while going down bumpy or rutted roads. Amazing. I wish I would have had this done years ago. It goes to show you...you get what you pay for.

He's the guy that does all the alignments for Larry on Transit Rd. where you go for you vette needs. If you decide to go there for an alignment sometime, give me a call and I'll meet up with you for a coffee. I would recommend dropping it off early morning, cause he spends a better part of the day with it. It's a nice clean well organized shop.
