While taking off my trailing arms, my friend noticed that the right rear brake line didn't drop any fluid, instead some dust came out Confused. Eventually some fluid did come out.
My brakes worked fine, never squealed or pulled. We figured a air pocket was trapped in the line.
I've ordered new brake lines, is there another possible reason why my line was dry ? Do I have a bigger problem ?
Thanks guys

Was it the line that runs from the front to the back of the caliper???

Was it "dry" at the front or rear?
If it was just dry at the rear, then I would think the line was stopped up. The fluid will still get to both sides of the caliper, as well as to the rear, due to the internal channel made into the caliper. The external line helps keep it all equalized.
Was/is there any fluid in the rear of the caliper?

If, however, it was "dry" at the front connection, then you may have a caliper issue, as the fluid should travel from one side to the other thru the casting. But then, if that be the case, you would have a brake problem at that corner.

Joel,

There is fluid inside of the caliper, none of the pistons show any signs of leaks.

There was probably a small pocket of air in the line & dust was most likely from the outside of the line.  Many people forget that there are 2 bleeders on the rear calipers.

Cookie..........I wire-wheeled, media blasted & painted the the calipers, they look great & are ready to be installed.

Anthony

Thanks Joel,
Anthony, thank you too. If it wasn't for you & Tom (Mustang Sally) my car wouldn't be as nice and reliable as it is.
Can't thank you guys enough. Clap
