I'm brand spanking new here and have a question about Steeroids. I am considering using this system for a 1970 restoration. I'm not worried about keeping it bone stock. I understand the Steeroid system can be removed if so desired. In other words it is easily reversible to go back to stock.
Any help from anyone on this product?
I'll have many more questions. I am going to check out the search engine on this site before bothering everyone with redundant and previously covered topics.

Here's a guy on CF that apparently installed it on his Vette.
Here's another guy that wrote an article on the subject.

Thanks for the links. It appears to be a very good system. I haven't heard anyone ever say anything negative about this system so far other than one person who questioned, not the product, whether it was wise to "wander away from stock so far".

I found a thread on another forum that is putting together a group purchase. I'm not sure if it is OK to post a link here though. Is posting links to other sites appropriate? I will post if it is OK.

Information is information regardless of where it comes from in my opinion. The "other" forums are sources of information also. I know that there are many members who frequent a lot of different Corvette sites and the diversity helps us all learn more about our C3s.

Posting links to other sites is ok, especially if it is an information resource. If it a link to a place where products/services/cars can be purchased, that is ok too, provided you are not linking to a site in order to futher your business. If it is a link to business that you own or make a profit off of its sales, that is NOT allowed unless you are a paid sponsor of C3VR.

Installed their system last fall on my 71. To answer your questions:
Yes, you could very easily return the steering to stock. The biggest issue I had was removing one of the long bolts olding the pitman arm on...it was hidden behind the fender liner.
As far as how it feels, well, Ican't really compare it to stock since my stock system was very far gone...I had something like 120 degrees of play in my steering wheel...not fun on rutted roads.
But, the car now turns in like a go-kart. You think and the car reacts. The hardest part of the install is trying to get the double-u-joint aligned so you don't have binding.
The shop who has done some other work on my car felt that overall the system was ok, the 2 areas of concern they saw were with the bracket that holds the u-joint support bearing, they felt that additional support may be needed, because if it broke you lose all steering. Additionally they felt there should be a heat shield protecting the u-joint from the exhaust. The clearance there is less than a finger width, and he felt the grease may boil out of the joint.
Any way, after I got the binding out of the joint, the steering feels great, and very precise. I also just had the suspension completely rebuilt at all 4 corners and now have 550 springs in the fron and a 360 composite spring in the rear. The 15" tires and rims just don't cut it any more...
