I had the four wheels aligned today for the first time in 52000 miles. I was surprised to find out that it needed considerable adjustment to the left rear and front end. I just now really noticed the rear tire wearing on the inside so I figured it was time to have it aligned. After I left the mechanic's shop and got it on the road I knew right away it was worth ever penny to have it done! What a big differance in the handling! It is like a different car, I guess I didn't realize how bad it was. If you haven't had it done I would highly recommend that you have it checked. It took about two hours to get all the shims put in where they needed to go and I was charged $93.50 for the job from a very respected shop in our area.

You're right, it doesn't take much to change from an ill-handling beast to a dream ride. I had mine done twice, because the first one was not done well. Second shop took a couple of hours and it cost me $100. Joe
Cannot agree more with you guys. I had my done about a month ago and WOW what a difference. Felt like a different car. Word to the wise "Shop for pricing".
I had "her" in for new rubber all around ($304 mount balanced inc tax) and questioned the shop ( Conrads ) about the 4 wheel alignment. I was told $69 and change BUT could be more. Next day tech called and said $412.
I thought about and figured still not bad for tires and alignment, thats when he said the $412 was just the alignment.
Needless to say they didnt do the alignment. Local dealership $ 54. and change. 3hrs labor 3 degrees out. So make sure you check pricing.

When I had my 4 tires replaced in the spring, my quote was $70 but after they had her, they called and said 4wheel adjustments 150. Checked with local chevy dealers and they said 150-175. Went with the local GY since they were alreay doing the tires. Turned out just OK. If I were to do it again, I would spend the extra 25 with the Chevy Dealer.

Hi
I went to the local Goodyear store and they want
$125 a pop for tires and said a 4 wheel alignment
costs $69.95 unles they have to change settings,
then it costs $200+!
I'm still trying to find a local shop to align my car.

Unless they have to change settings? So, are they really saying it's $69.95 to check your alignment, and $200.00+ to actually align it?
