Topic: Front end
in Forum: C3 Engines, Driveline and Handling
There is a bit more progress on my project. I have just replace all 4 ball joints, tie rods, tie rod sleeves, stablizer links, all upper and lower control arm bushings, coil springs, and new shocks. I have not done the idler arm yet, but it has not play, and I do have a new one I'm going to put in any way. So the entire front end is rebuilt. I also adjusted the steering box.
Of course all of this was done in my gravel driveway between rain drops last week.
Then I went to a friend and former student who has a muffler shop. He is also getting into all repairs, and has an alignment machine. He was busy be said get started. So I did all of the alignment and know it's right. Having done all of the work myself, he didn't charge me for use of the rack.
And of course, the car drives so much better it's unreal. It's a lot more fun to drive. Making progress all the time. Now if I can get to PF..... but no promises. Still no paint. Wipers are next.
