Just had the car returned to me with engine installed.  The engine was out for some time and I have become unfamiliar with they way the front end of this car is supposed to look.  I installed front springs from VB and P. It looks high to me, measures 28 1/2" at the front driver and pass. wheel well.  Can I expect the springs to lower over the next couple of weeks now that the engine is back in?  The springs were installed with the engine in the car before it was pulled but there are zero miles on them.  Also installed the KYB g2 shocks and they seem a little soft.  That will have to wait for road testing to confirm.

Thanks,

Vette(s): White '79 Corvette. It's a driver.

I have'nt done the front end rebuild yet but I hope to soon.

Quite a few members here have seen the front end settle down after some miles. I'm sure they'll chime in soon enough. (ttt)

My '78 SA measures 28 1/8 with VBP coils I put in 2 years ago. Sounds like a good reason to take her out for a ride.Smile

That is about the correct height.  You can expect very little settling.  If the front seems too high, it is probably because the back has settled over the years.

Jeff, probably 2 weeks from getting it out on the road.

Larry, the car has been sitting for so long I don't remember what it's supposed to look likeCry. Now that it's been sitting for a couple of days it's starting to get better and better looking! Once I get it on the road with new tires and put a few miles on her I'll remeasure the ride height.

Thanks for the input
