Hey folks,
Thank you all for those replys!
I'm gonna go ahead and get the (Van Steel) 460's along with their rubber bushing front end kit.

P.S. DWRIGHT, I won't be doing the work myself. However, the mechanic lets me in the garage and I get to help out. I like gettin' my hands dirty and askin' questions while we work.

Joe,
Glad to hear that worked out for you!

DWRIGHT,
Yeah, my mechanic and I kind of have an arrangement like that, too.
I buy the coffee in the morning and spring for lunch. By the end of the job I usually hang around and keep asking questions.
Last year when he (we) finished up on some valve work I kept on blurting out even more car questions. He gave me a good natured grin and said "Be careful or y'er buyin' the dinner too!"
I'll see you and DaveM in Pa. in 2 weeks! (New springs or not.)
Kevin

[QUOTE=VetteSpecialties]Usually an interior compressor works.  Sometimes you need to take it apart and put it together upside down, so the shaft sticks out the shock hole in the lower A-arm.

Or else get five heavy friends to sit on the frame while you use a floor jack.

Good luck

Another trick that worked for me was to get a piece of all thread that fit through the shock mount hole on top of the coil tower. I used the bottom half of the internal spring compressor to suck the spring in enough to get the lower A arm put back on. Wasn't purtty but it worked.
