i bought one of those one handed brake bleeder suction gizmos from Ecklers..It did not work for the brakes but it did work for sucking old 90wt grease outa the steering box,,the only thing is that it had a little bitty bottle catching the old grease, I had to empty it about fourty leven dozen times,,I would not reccomend it for brakes but do for sucking grease outa the steering box.,,rd

So....why are you degreasing your steering box? Rebuilding it?

I actually had some good luck with that gizmo with by brakes. Important part I found was puttin some grease around the outside of the bleeders so they don't sick in any air through the threads...

I found the best way to bleed these brakes was gravity...the least stressful too....!!!!!
The hand pump didn't do much but make my hand tired and sore.....

Using the Mity-Vac(or similar) pump on Shark brakes is pretty useless, imo.
The problem is it will actually suck air into the system past the seals on the caliper pistons IF you pump it too much. If you're replacing the master, or have empty fluid lines, it works well to get the fluid to the corners quick, but that's aboot it.
If your calipers have the "o-ring" seals, then the vac pump works better, but it's still not the best. The best, of course, is a pressure bleeder.
Save the Mity-Vac for checking the headlight/wiper/HVAC actuators...that's really the best use for it.

I made a pressure bleeder by taking an old master cylinder lid and epoxying an air chuck fitting to it. I then set my air compressor pressure valve to about five pounds and just hook the air line on while I open the bleeder.

5 PSI ?? - I thought you said 55psi - no wounder the calapers blew off
Just fooling - great idea using an old cover and the air compressor - I gotta try it - as the vac pump I bought is useless -except for testing the headlights&wiper

Forget the Mity-Vac doodad on Shark brakes. I spent all day trying to bleed mine with one... nuttin' but bubbles. Pressure bleed or buddy bleed is the only way to go...
