I agree with Joel. More than likely the tow truck operatot used the control arm as an anchor point.

Sounds like ya better check the beast out from front to rear very closely. Hate ta be flyin don the highway and somethin comes unglued.
Hope this all comes to an end soon for ya. In the meantime can we send nasty grams to AAA for ya or anything?

I'm sure there are a lot of AAA horror stories out there, but this is the first time I've had problems with them.  The last few times I've used them (or mooched them), they've done a great job and even helped diagnose the fuel pump on my 96 GMC P/U.  I understand they are contract laborers but most have been very good to help.

What concerns me is that the AAA guy has no reason not to return my calls as he won't be ultimately liable anyway.  The wrecker service will be footing the bill and they will just turn it over to their insurance so we will all pay for my vette to get fixed in the endCensored

If he doesn't return my call by tomorrow morning, I will elevate this to the state guy and hope he has a better attitude.  I wouldn't hesitate to mention that I am in two clubs and this site so if he wants a LOT of bad press...  Probably won't be effective, but we'll see.

The downside of that is they are the only established game in town for their services with the reach they have.

Thanks for the offer, I'll let ya know if we need a writing campaign.

DNV,
I would definitely let the rep know about your memberships. The internet is an awesome tool when it comes to business. A decade ago, it would have been difficult and expensive to tell this story to hundreds or even thousands of people. The internet has changed that forever. You tell all of us on this forum then we tell 2 or 3 friends, they tell a few friends etc. It adds up very quickly.

I finally got hold of the AAA guy yesterday.  They have washed their hands of the situation.  Further, the insurance company claims to have called Oct 26th, no phone record of that.

They (the insurance company) wants to come back out and "look at the damage" and get with my "favorite" shop to fix it.  I calle them back to talk person to person and no one ever called me back.

In the voice mail, they said they haven't taken the gomer's statement yet so they have that to do as well as re-examine the car and the claims agent assigned to me is off till next week.

I fully intend to add the front end damage to the growing list when they come back out.  The real problem is, I had to fix the nose to make it driveable to the house so now I am hoping the pictures 71Shark and I took will suffice.

It sure feels like the run around.
