I am about to install a VBP 3/4" sway bar on the rear of my 80 Vette. It did not come from the factory with a rear sway bar. I was wondering if anone has done this and any problems I mite run into.

Thanks, I have three manuals, and an assembly manual. I was just wondering if anyone else had done this and any problems they mite have run into. Haven't looked real good yet but can't see any holes in the frame for the sway bar bushings and brackets. I found the holes in the trailing arms for the brackets and links.
Thanks Glenn

I installed a rear sway on my 72 and had to do some digging for the holes. I used an awe to poke around on the frame and eventually hit pay-dirt. Turned out the holes were filled in with dirt, road debri, undercoat and paint. Once I found them i used brake clean and compressed air to remove most of the crap that was in them and then chased them out with a tap of the correct size. Took about an hour of prep and about 30 minutes to install the rear sway.
Well worth the time and energy.
You can also go to vette brakes and print off one of their instructions sheets to see what is involved before making the purchase decision. Thats what I did.

Did you ever install your rear sway bar?
What size did you end up using?

Well the new rear shocks and sway bar are on. Yes the holes were in the frame for the swaybar bushing mounts, and like the others here I had to clean them out, chase the threads with a tap, The hardest part was getting the tapped bar inside the trailing arm the head of the spring bolt was in the way but with some work I got them in, after that it was a piece of cake. Oh and the manuals say to remove the spare tire & housing you don't have too. Thanks for all the help.
