anyone know how the horn button is held in place on my 77?

Vette(s): 1972 conv, 4-speed, 350, 200hp, numbers match, rally wheels, war bonnett yellow w/white top. good condition, nice driver.
 Un hook the battery first.  Not sure about yours, but some of them you push down on the middle and turn counter clockwise and it is in your hand.  Watch for springs and other flying parts.

On the '78-'82 they just pop right off and on.

Not yet concerned about it working or not.The button just popped off last week.Looks like backside was epoxied on to other pcs.Is that how it was secured? Epoxy?

It's a circular configuration of bent metal tabs to receive the horn button. If these fail to have enough resistance to hold the button in place, you might try bending them out ever so slightly. If thats not working you may have to replace that one piece.
