Always wondered. After jacking up each side of the rear to do work, the rear wheels kind of hang inward due to the rear independant suspension. Then when you bring her back down, the wheels are still slightly cocked inward with the weight of the car on them in this position until you roll her out of the garage and they level out.

How long is it ok to be in this position cocked with the weight on them? It seem that the stress of the wheels at that angle can't be good?? |headscratch|

I would think that it would only put stress on the spindles and bearings. Compared to the abuse those parts take during a typical city/freeway drive, spending some time with slight lateral pressure should be no problem at all.

It may look extreme but I doubt the pressures involved are anything more than moderate.

I've never thought about that. Anytime I have "The Toy" fully off the ground I have a mess to sweep up so it doesn't stand with those awkward angles for more than a couple of minutes while I'm getting the grit and grime off of me prior to backing it out of the garage.

I guess after paying for the big buck alignment last year I must still be paranoid about ruining the alignment by letting her sit that way for a couple weeks.
