Boyds wheels are very nice and yest most of his wheels will fit directly onto our C3's. The one thing that I did discover was if you want something different for our cars, you got to shell out the dough and buy billet wheels.

Cast wheels or forged wheels are set in the way the bolt pattern comes out, but they can be adjusted for backspacing by simpling the mfg. machining the mounting surface of the center section to obtain the backspacing required or they simply weld the center section to the rim to give the correct backspacing. These wheels are cheaper because they only have a limited offering of bolt patterns.

With billet everything can be adusted from milling the correct bolt pattern, the backspacing and the weld position to give you that deep dish look. They are also built to the customers specifications at the time they order them.

I will also tell you and this is not an advertisment or endorsement, but in a way it is. After talking to Intro wheels I found out that the main sales guy there at Intro has owned and still owns 3 or 4 corvettes at all times.

He says he doesn't talk about it much because some people think of it as a negative thing, but he has owned (bought, sold and restored) more then 200 corvettes over the years. So he knew exactly what I was talking about, what I was trying to acheive, could verify and make any recommendations or adjustments to go with the data that I had gathered using the tools I was loaned to get the right outcome.

I give that all the up in the world knowing that there are people on the other end of the phone who know to work on our cars and what we go through to make them uniquely ours. Especially when you are going to drop series money on new wheels and tires.

The only thing that did not accomplish in the story was lowering of the suspention to get a really aggressive look. That was going to require alignment and othe things that I simply ran out of time to get done. other wise the tires would be setting into the wheel wells more then they do now.

One more Update.

The editor called me today to let me know that the story will be in their august issue. Subscriptions will be mained on 5-19 and on the newstands on 6-8.

The editor said if anyone is wanting to know where they can get one on the newsstands that they can go to their website and click on the locator.

He also said if you do this and no location comes up for you area to send them an email and they will find out why and make sure they start finding locations in those areas.
