[QUOTE=Autom8r]There was a thread on this subject earlier this year, check it out here;

I went with 255 / 60 R15 Firestone Firehawk Indy 500s and they perform great and look great to boot.

i also changed to those Indy's. They look "performance"
under the car... Mounted them on alu wheels , kept my rally's with the T/A's.

So that's one big fault for a '70 but i don't mind , they look great !
and nobody in Belgium knows....

Vette(s): 1980 all org. with 18000 act. miles dk claret with matching interior..Eagle alloys ..loaded..excellent cond.
I would go with the 255x60 on your rims. Gives the car a better look with all that rubber on the ground. They ride well also. Just a thought...
I've got the BFG's on my truck's (2) and love them. Vette came with Kumho's, rough, noisy, 30 to 45 min to get good heat buildup.
When she gets back from paint, she will get BFG 60's as her first present! Wouldn't have any other brand or type. If they made them for my daily beater, it'd be on them too.

It's really kinda up to you and what you want. I like the BFG TAs for the old school look, and they really are a pretty good tire...but I don't race the car, or drive it everyday. I'm sure there are better tires, but they are good for what I want them for.
Thanks for all the input on my question about tires. Looks like a lot you guys really like the 255/60 size. Now you got me thinking about that. I'll have to check into them. Since I wanted for a long time and am finally a Vette owner and had to learn fast once I had one in my garage, I found that the C3VR forums are the place to find the answers. Just look at old topics or ask a new question and lots of people are more than willing to help.
BTW, I'll need all the help I can get since I'm just a dumb carpenter, but at least I got me a C3.
Thanks again,
Jeff
