I replaced the steel leaf spring with fiberglass, put new gas shock all around. Got the car back and now the handling is "mushy". No road feel as compared to before modifications. The only thing that is not where I think it should be is the rear end height. It is sitting a good inch plus higher than before. I believe I can lower the rear end by tightening the nuts on the long bolts on the end of the spring, is that correct? The bolts have extended threads so there is plent of adjustment. Also, would this account for the "mushy" handling?

Thanks

I would suspect the shocks are too soft. Might want to check. Don't make too many judgements until you lower it back down to where it should be.

knowing the strength of the spring would help..

also what kind of shocks ? did you get shocks valved for a fiberglass spring ?

if it is riding high in the back youll want to lower it. but also with the stonger spring you may want to install a rear sway bar..
