Finally I got around to installing my 18 Cragar wheels on my 76, I had to wait because my car was used by Petersen Automotive Museum here in Los Angeles for the Corvette Day celebration.

they don't look like 18" guess because they are such low profile tires.

WOW...!!! |eek| Those look GREAT! Do you notice any difference in the ride and/or handling with the lower profile tires? What brand and size(s) are the tires?

btw - great looking '76. Nicely done! |thumb| I think that's a C3OTW candidate!

Wow, nice shoes! I have been looking for a new set of rims for my '78 as well. I think I have the style picked out, just waiting to hear back from the company to see how much I am looking at. Nice ride!

Thanks for the good words on my car, if you want a picture for your desktop send me an email and I'll send you the original picture which is large and can be used as a 1600x1200 resolution background.

The 18"s Cragar SS wheels look smaller than they are because the rim section is not flat, it looks more like the trim ring in a rally wheel.

The ride is Much better than factory, because the wheels are lighter and therefore let the shocks do their job better, and the Toyo Proxes are a little lighter than the factory rubber.

Tire size is 245X40 and if I i had to do it over I would of gone with 250x40 or 255X40, I was worried that the tires would not fit, and I got as close to the factory tire size as possible.

Ok, I have to ask. What are the rim sizes. I know their 18's, but what about width and offset/backspacing. I know backspacing is critical. Are you running offset t-arms?

They are stock backspacing and I do not have offset arms, the size is 18x8 and she's running 255/45 18"'s they are about .75" shorter than the stock tires.

See them at http://www.cragarforgedalloys.com/

I will post more pics a little later...
