I am going to replace my front end A-Arms. I already have a new set of uppers and lowers rebuilt and ready to install. Can anyone provide me a list of everything else I should replace while i'm having the front end pulled apart.

I was considering a Steeroids unit but I just can't afford it right now so my main goal is to make the car handle better and be a little safer... most of the bushing are shot or completely gone!

My plan is to get the rest of the parts I need from Larry at Corvette Specialties and have the work done shortly after.

Thanks in advance for your help.

Eric

get the complete front kit with the Offset Upper A-Arms, this allows better alignment. and stay with rubber bushings. poly give a harsh ride, unless you want to do alot of auto crossing.
Good luck.

Hey Eric,
I just ordered a Front End Rebuild Kit (rubber bushings) & Front Springs from Larry & Mike at Corvette Specialties.
I asked all the questions I needed to and got reassuring answers that I'll have everything I'll need in the kit.
Good luck with your front end rebuild!
Kevin

I am a big fan of complete parts kits also. Everything is matched and ready to go.  I purchased my suspension parts from VanSteel.  Have fun.

Corvettes and women are the same...You want to make love to them but they keep breaking down.

Vette(s): 1979, Targa Blue (72 Color), Pace Car rear spoiler, L88 hood, Dark blue factory interior, 525HP 406, HD 700R4, 370 gears,Steeroids, composite rear spring, TT IIs wrapped in T/A Radials.

If you don't go for a full kit, I would definitely go for new ball joints, shocks and springs since you have to take all of that out anyway to put the bushings in. You can easily do the Steeroids later and the A-Arms do not need to come out during the install. Ditto in Larry at Corvette Specialties - great guy and great prices.Thumbs Up

Good luck, either way!!

Add one more - and inexpensive too - new sway bay links and bushings.
