Vette(s): Just finished 2 years of Blood, Sweat, & Tears restoring my 69 Coupe. Crimsom Red, 427, vacuum removed, Shot of Steeroids, Killer Lights, 5 Speed, still working on small things but she is back on the road.
I'm ready to buy wheels and tires now for my 69. I decided to go with American Racing with the Torq Thrusters ll and Firestone Firehawks. Based on all the great information from this site I decided to run Back Spacing 4" on the front with a 8 X 17 wheel using a P255/45-17. No problem can get this from AR. However I wanted to run a Back Spacing 5" on the back with a 9 X 17 wheel. AR said they don't have any thing between 4" and 6.5" and it would be 9.5 X 17 not a 9 X 17 wheel. I'm not worried about the 9.5 (well a little) but the back Spacing of 6.5" has me worried. I have off set trailing arms so I should be OK with the width of the wheel and tire but I have no idea on the Back Spacing. Any help I can get from the group would be greatly appreciated.

Glassman69 - I would either ask After Shark who has written some articals on it, or call Van Steel. I would say that they seem to have the best knowledge based on my investigation.
I called Van Steel after I purchased my offset T-arms and they told me that the widest you could go was 9 inches with a 5 inch backspace on 17 or 18 inch wheels. I didn't do it yet so I can say first hand.

Thanks for the suggestions. Aftershark has been helping me. Hopefully, I'll get the stright skinny this week from the dealer and get everything ordered. I hope to get the body back on the frame this week. Target is to have it back on the road by the end of July.
