Some of the original strut rods were bent. Both of mine are evenly bent. It was a design to allow some slight ground clearance. But the straight ones are stronger in regards to side impact, say a curb or pot hole.
But you should complain about the stablizer bar links not matching. The should be the same length. Different lengths will preload the suspension slightly to one side. If both were changed with slightly longer or shorter ones, that would be okay. But only slightly. Different suppliers will do this to make the link components into a more universal application, fitting more cars, and thus cutting inventory.
I rebuilt my trailing arms last summer which included spindle replacement. The short of it is, the in and out play on the spindle should be between .001" to .008" as measured with a dial indicator. It's perfered to be closer to .001" end play. The castle nut on the end of the spindle should be torqued to 100 ft-lbs. It does take a few special tools to do the rebuild including the bearing set-up but there not too expensive. The end play is set using shims.
Hope this helps
