I figure I might as well get some new shocks along with having my new tires installed.  Any opinions on brand?  The rest of the suspension is bone stock, no lowering springs or other mods.

The A/C-Delco gas shocks are pretty good for stockers, and reasonably priced, too. From there, I'd go to something like a Bilstien...a lot better, but also more $$$.

Yeah, I had an eye on either the Delcos or KYBs.  Bilsteins or Konis just seem like overkill for this stock setup.

The KYBs are a good choice, too. Some of the C3VR members have them, I believe. I've never had any experience with them myself, so I wouldn't know how they are.

I found that VB&P had the best prices per shock out of everyone for the KYB and bilsteins.

That's what I found so far as well.  They rave about those Bilstein Sports...

Yeah I caved in and bought the bilsteins, the KYB's were out of stock and I couldnt wait anymore so I upgraded. They were nice enough and gave me a discount for being patient. The bilsteins definately come with cool points, but you gotta pay for themWink I would go for the KYB's and get some SS brake lines or something like that.

Vette(s): White '79 Corvette. It's a driver.

I went with the KYB's last April. I'm very happy with them.

The 79 I bought has KYBs and they are nice. I just put bilstien's on wifes 74 last week and drove it to south GA. Both ride and handle great. So the question is.... How much you wanna spend? Both seem like good choices.
