Just finished putting on my new Strut Rods from VBP. I ordered these a while back and been waiting for it to warm up a little to put them on. Been pretty cold in the garage lately. I tried to align the rear a while back and found I could not get the camber correct because of worn bushings and old crappy strut rods. I was surprised at how much beefier the VBP rods are. I did not buy the new bracket just rods. I took my old bracket off and cleaned it up and ran it down to the muffler shop and had my muffler guy put a few welds on this since they just spot welded these at the factory. Shot a little paint on it and cleaned everything up and put it back together. The hardest thing was getting the shock mount bolts that go through the end of the rod out. They look like they had been there since 1972. I would recommend this project for anyone. Pretty easy and the rods cost $120.00. One thing I would do that I didn't would be to get new shock mount bolts for the end of the rods. Hopefully take this down and get the rear aligned this week. If anyone is looking for a weekend project this is a pretty good one.

Hey Lonnie,
Sounds like time well spent.
I wouldn't be able to handle a job like that myself. My hat's off to you!
Heck, I just had to ask for help with an interior bulb. EmbarrassedLOL

I did mine when I put my VBP spring in last winter. I reused my strut rods cause they were in really good condition, but the rubber bushings where totally shot. Alot of stress on them to keep the rear wheels upright. After seeing how they wear I decided to try poly.
BTW Nice looking rag top. I like them hoods on the chrome cars.

Thanks.....I replaced my spring with one from VBP a while back. I wish I had done this at the same time. These rods have the Poly bushings also. I made sure to grease them well as to avoid any squeaks. I here people talk about the poly squeaking.
