Good Morning all,
Hope you all had a great turkey day. I'm a new member and for the first time got to read through some Q&As here. Some very good questions and a lot of very helpful replys. I have a 69 coup, I just pulled the 350 and in the process of droping in the correct 427. At the same time I replaced the entire front and rear suspension with a kit from Van Steel. The kit comes with tube type upper and lower control arms a fiberglass front mono spring to replace the coils a new fiberglass spring for the rear, new shocks and front and rear stablizer bars (I'm saving all the orginal parts), I do not have the motor in yet so I have not been able to drive the car yet. Has any one else installed this suspension? If so, how has it performed? Anything I should be aware of?
Thanks

Vette(s): 1972 Coupe
Anything, but Stock and more mods to come!
SSBC Force 10 Brakes, 3.73, TH350, 355 CID, Rack and Pinion, Vette Brakes suspension front and rear.
I have a similar system from Vette Brakes. Love it, because of its adjustability. I set it in the middle so its not on the stiffest setting. Changing out the upper A-arms can be a pain. I removed my fan shroud, loosened my altenator to get them out. Afterwards I realized I could haved used a slide hammer to remove the a-Arm mounting bolts and they would have come out through the A-Arm openings.
This is also a good time to remove and replace the A Arm Flaps if they're in bad shape. Make sure you grease the fittings and make sure you have a accurate torque wrench that you can use when torquing the bolts into the lower spring mount aluminum blocks. you don't want to bend the spring mounting plates or pull the threads out of the blocks.
I also used a measuring tape to center the spring under the car finding fixed points to reference the spring ends.
