Bigfish, Are these cable adjusters an auto parts store or Home Depot part? Might try it just to see what happens. I'm thinking like a garage door repair part? Mike

Mike, you should be able to get them at any auto parts store. If memory serves right, they are shaped like a small boomarang with a saddle (or might be a hook) and adjustment bolt at the vee. They are designed to take up cable slack by having the cable ride on the outer 2 points and pulling slack in towards the center with the adjuster. I don't think they would cost more then 3 or 4 bucks each.
