Well I just saw another post below about this so I dont want to beat it to death....BUT, How the *%@(^& Do you remove the back retaining pins? I assume you do because the kit comes with 'em. I was able to get the caliper tied up and out of the way (wood block keeping pads seperated) and even though the little spreading mech, as well as the adjuster were completely frozen, I am almost ready to put it back togather. There are several little tricks I have read about to reassemble everything and I will probaby try several..but...the drivers side front pin seams easy enough to remove (replace) but...the rear one seams a little more chalenging...I am gonna guess most of you just leave the old pin in and use it with the new spring and keeper......Am I wrong? or missing a trick?

That pin is not gonna come out without dis-assembling the t-arm, and backing plate, or bending the
out of the backing plate.
If it is still in good shape, and will hold the retainer on, you can reuse it as is. You can spray it with some WD40, or Zep 45, to help keep the rust down, if ya want.

I took apart and reassembled the brakes on "The Toy" without the use of any special tools. Lots of cussing required
- but if I can do it anyone can...!!! I replaced all the parking brake parts with new stainless ones so hopefully I don't have to venture in there again in my lifetime.

Eric,
Dija take any pix? If so, write me a page or so on how to do it. We'll do it as a tech article in SharkBytes and put it in the tips and tricks, or wherever those things end up.
