OK, Got the second side done (passenger) and have a total of less than an hour (estimate) compared to about 4 1/2 hours for the drivers side. The trick was....COMPLETELY compress the shoe retaining spring with dental floss...and I mean make it flat as a pancake, spend your time here...then everything can be slipped into place and then hit it with a (Bernzamatic flexable lighter)....just bought the thing...like a tiny blowtorch for lighting grills and the gooseneck head can slip in through the side and blow all the floss off in 1 second! better than burning my fingers with matches while waiting for the floss to melt!! So Now my cable question...the passenger side has a metal guide that has a plastic or teflon clip for the cable to slide on..and I suspect to keep the spring from sliding through the guide...the drivers side has the metal guide but no inner plastic left. I was thinking of splitting a washer that would allow the cable to slide but not allow the spring to go back through and put that just ahead of the spring where it meats the guide. I honestly forget where the spring goes, but, I assume between the guide and the brake mechanism, and the tension of the spring would keep the washer against the little guide bracket. Any other Idea's??...If anybody has a shot of this area that would be great Thanks again!!

The plastic guides are available from some of the vendors, such as Zip, or Paragon.
