I dont let the inspector drive mine, they can ride along but not drive it. When he wanted to check the brake I pulled up on it and held it as tight as I could, It worked!!! My question to him was if I have an auto trans why do I need the brake? His response was "because it's in the inspection guide" again no room for intelligence. Mine was rebuilt also and works great when the car is off and in park. Rolling%20On%20The%20Floor%20Laughingfp_vetter722008-05-11 06:59:06

It took me 5 hours with two helpers to do my right side.  The next day I did the left in one hour alone.  The difference was that I ignored the shop manual on the second day, and did what I thought made more sense along with a little inovation, born of the inspiration from frustration.

i'm about to do mine !
i am SOOO ENCOURAGED NOW !!!!Unhappy
got all the parts, ready to put on and all of a sudden i noticed that the trailing arms i bought from a guy that was parting out his vette didn't put the dust shields on the rear or any of the parking brake hardware that the shoes go up against !!Cry
needless to say, i have to take the spindle off now to put the shields and the hardware on, which may be a pain !!!!!
(will be asking for help on this in another forum!)
one step forward, 3 steps back !
well, have fun !!
