Well I just bought a valve and plan on replacing it Saturday. Can you give me any advice that will make it easier. It doesn't look that bad, but we all know it's never as easy as it looks. I looked over the Haynes manual and my only question right now is how to do the final adjustment. Man, if i replace this thing and it still leaks I will be not be a happy camper.
I have to admit I'm tempted to try a different fluid and hope it slows down the leak.

ARRRRRRRRRRRRGHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHH.
I replaced the control valve and I knew it went too easy. i got the old one off easy enough and slipped the new one in and tightened everything down. Then I adjusted the nut until the turning force was equal for both directions. The whole job took less than 3 hours. I was feeling pretty good so I got the tires back on and went for a drive and I've now got the steering wheel rotated about 1/4 turn from center when going straight. SON OF A B........!!!!!!!!!!!!!
I'm assuming I have the Pitman arm rotated slightly from the old position. Does this mean I have I have to go in and rotate the control valve? The wheel is turned 1/4 turn to the left when going straight, so would I back off the valve or tighten it? And tell me when I can quit swearing.
