Is there a difference in Proportioning valves quality wise? Midamerica is 139.00. I think corvette central is 99.00. And Ecklers have one for 59.00. They look the same in appearance. Couldn't undestand the price difference. (that big of a gap)

Mid Am is probably a GM piece. The others may be aftermarket items, or possibly remans. Call and ask.
Do ya really wanna scrimp on brake items?
This is one area of my cars that I really want the best I can get. Maybe it's just me, but that bad feeling ya get when the brake pedal suddenly hits the floor just ain't my idea of fun...

Kenny,

Check with a brake specialist such as Lone Star Calipers, Vette Brake Products (VBP) or Corvette Stainless Steel Brake Inc.

They'll probably be able to answer more specific questions.

No problems as far as me paying the price. As a matter of fact, I've already made the purchase from midamerica. Just wondered if I had payed too much by not shopping around. No Adam. I always want the best available. Don't ever mind paying the price for quality. Just don't want to pay too much if I can get the same part for a lot less.( Sounded like a big price difference to be the same quality) No big deal just wandered.

Just a note. Payed attention to the pack the part came in. Adam, you were right. It is a new part. If I remember correctly, it said GM. I left the pack at the shop I had it delivered to. Left the midamerica magazine there too so the next vette that comes in to be worked on, they can be more professional by being able to order vette parts. They were just tickled to death to get a chance to work on the vette and get the book. When I left, they were thumbing through the magazineExclamationLamp

Did it work? As in, do the brakes work ok now?
Don't worry about the Mid Am catalog...you'll get a new one every couple of months!!

Oh yes. The brakes work great. As far as the catalog, I've been getting them for the last ten years ( as long as I've had the vette). All the parts I get has come from Midamerica that I can't get at my local NAPA store. That's why I was wandering about the price, as I had never shopped around anywhere else. They are a great bunch to deal with.
