I need some "expert" hep.
I'm seriously considering offset trailing arms 'cause I want to move up (out?) to a 9.5" or 10" wheel in the rear. (To fill my wheel wells; I have flares).
While I'm at it, you know how it is, new mono spring, adjustable struts, HD rear cover, shocks, etc. I've been following the springs and shocks posts with great interest.

Here's the question: Will the mono spring fit with offset TAs and 10" wheels? I've heard folks say the spring has to be shortened! How do you shorten a composite glass spring????
Anyone else upgraded to offsets TAs, wider wheels, and a monospring? Any problems? Thanx. Mike

I purchased the Performance Plus suspension from VanSteel. Before placing the order I called and talked to them about how I wanted the car to perform and what type of ride characteristics that I would like.
Based on that info they customized the kit with QA-1 coil overs on the front instead of the traverse spring and put QA-1 adjustable shocks on the rear.
Everything went together well and looks good. I would love to tell you how it rides but I am not there yet. Possibly this summer.
If you need to have a spring shortened they can do it for you. Call and talk to VBP or VanSteel before buying and they can advise you about any cuts or changes.
I also have the offset TAs in case I went with wider tires.

The off-set on that type of t-arm is in the front, not the rear, so that in itself would not cause any interference with the spring. The problem could develop depending on the off-set of the rims, tho. If there is too much backspacing on the rims, the wheel/tire will be closer to the spring, and can rub/touch, regardless of what type of spring you use: steel or 'glass.
You could go to a wider rim/tire combo, but with less backspacing that stock, and that would move the rim out a little more, to fill out the fenders, and not even need to worry about the t-arms. At the most, you may need to re-locate the parking brake cable bracket from the side of the t-arm, to the top. Some off-set t-arms already have the bracket moved.
