Well, noticed a small amount of brake fluid on the inside of my right rear tire tonight and pulled the wheel off. I am replaceing the the calipers, pads, steel and rubber lines in the rear both sides. I bought this stuff at the Corvette swap meet just 3 weekends ago. LOL I didn't think I would be putting them in that soon. I am just glad I wasn't driving down the highway and found out the hard way that I had a brake problem.
I'll keep you posted.

Yep Ken...Me too! Got everything installed and just got back from a test drive after a complete bleeding of the braking system. Nice firm peddle now. OH, and it stops good too. LOL!

I noticed the exact same thing on the right front wheel this weekend. While plumbing the gas and transmission lines after the motor swap
, bummer! Well after firing up this new motor this week, and working out any bugs
, I guess it will be front brake time!

I just fixed the brakes on my 80. Speedbleeders.com they make it very easy. Get the bag and silcon hose also. I was done in no time.

They sell them on the speedbleeders site. Just a silicon hose and a reusable bag. Just basic stuff, I guess you could catch brake fluid in anything though.

I got mine from Precision Engineering. (www.fixvetteparts.com) They re-man their own o-ring s/s sleeved calipers in house, and they are actually the suppliers for various other companies out there. I called them and spoke to the owner personally, both of them are Corvette owners. The have a lifetime gaurentee, and so far no problems. Price was nice too, $329 for 4 re-mans, hoses, pads and hardware, after core returns of 40 ea and shipping.

Believe it or not, AutoZone has lifetime warranty SS calipers for 61.00 ea, exchange price. My local one has them in stock, front and rear.
