New to C3VR, think it's great. My delema is; during hard acceleration my 70' wants to move to the left. I think the rear end needs alignment. It acts like the RH control arm shims are loose, yet I can't move them. They appear to be tight. Does any one have any experience with this?

You are not giving a whole lot of detail in your question. Not knowing if your engine is stock or what kind of tires you are running, I will ask this to you.....under HARD acceleration, are you SURE your tires are not losing traction and the normal torque of the engine is side-sliping the car? It is possible your tires are spinning and you can not hear them.

I'm sure the wheels are not spinning. The engine is the stock 350. By hard acceleration, I'm mean getting on it, but not going to the floor. At first I thought it might be the car following the ruts in the road, but it does that at all time depending on the road surface. It's hard to discribe, it just feels 'squierly' . I think this summer I'll take it in to an alignment center and have it checked.

It might be the posi not hooking up right. A friend told me his '68 was feeling a little squirrely when he'd put the foot to it. After having the differential rebuilt he said it tracked straight as an arrow.

It might well be the alignment. The same thing was happening to mine until I got a good 4 wheel alignment done.
