I'm not sure how to explain the problem other than that when I went to back out of the garage this morning it seemed like the pass. side rear wheel brake was "frozen-up". The rear-end raised up on that side as soon as I started to back-up. I litely touch the gas and it seemed to "break loose". There's no sounds ie rubbing or grinding as I drive. The vehicle has sat idle( rain forecasted every other day it seems) for about 2-3 weeks.
Anyone experience this before? know what is causing it? major problem? easy fix?
The brake system is brand new lines calipers hoses pads etc...
Any help/suggestions???
Car drove and stopped without any problems/noises.

Had the same problem 2years and 9 months ago while at a cruis'n event locally, I found the rear passenger wheel was getting a little warmer than the other 3 wheels. Thought it would be a quick fix (bearing replacement) and as I had another 78 at this time I switched cars and took the car to the local chevy dealer (didn't won't to lose cruis'n time)which told me it was nothing to worry about go ahead and drive it ; anyway after the event (1 week later the local dealer notified me he did not have the proper tools to replace the bearing. Getting it home on the lift I found the trailing arms with small cracks ordered the repacemnt trailing arms with all new bearing installed for both sides no problems since. Oh yes I regrease the rear bearings annually in Nov.

Yeah, it sounds like your bearings or spindle to me. If the bearings are not lubed, or go bad they could mess up the spindle and/or the trailing arm assembly.
Another option (because it's true that few have the tools or want to work on the bearings) is to get the bearing assembly from Fast Corvette. They sell the assembley completely packed and setup. All you have to do is use the assembly tool (which they will rent) to pull the spindle back into the assembly.
I looked into this option because my trailing arms were still good. It's also cheaper than getting the whole TA assembly.

Most likely the bearings. But if you have metallic brake pads they can rust to the rotors in high humidity conditions and tend to grab, causing a similar type symptom. Just for thought.
Thanks everyone. I've got an appointment to have her checked out as soon as I get back from Las Vegas(8th - 14th). The bearings were replaced last spring (same time and shop that did the brakes). I spoke with them today and he thinks he remembers that the "yokes" were worn and probably needed replaced soon(which he did say last year). Now I can only hope that Vegas brings good returns on my investments.
Oh well "You cant take it with ya"
