Is the rear spring on a '73 suppose to be painted grey... I noticed in BAIRS list they have "Shock Absorber Gray Spray Paint: used on 64-72 shock absorbers & 64-82 rear springs". Mine has been replaced and it is black..
Will the "Corvette Restoration Guide " give all that info for specific years or is there a better source...?
While I have the trailing arms out for rebuild I thought I would paint as it should be... I prefer the black undercoat myself..

The rear spring assy. was painted a weird color of grey. It's not really the same as normal primer; it has a "blue-ish/grey" tint. I haven't used any of the store-bought paint, so I don't know if its "correct" or not. The paint I used on mine, I mixed myself.
