Vette(s): 1981 silver & blue , blue inter., origianal paint,40.000 org. miles.mirror tops, ex. shape, auto, all the goodies.
I strated to replace my original rear composit spring and ran into a small problem. The replacement spring is a TRW.
The spring plate has three(3) bolts to hold it in place. Two (2) long ones in the rear of the plate and one (1) short bolt in the front of the plate. The short one in the front seems to be too short and the new one supplied with the new spring is totally the wrong size. Has anyone come across this problem and what did you do to solve it? I 'm worried that i might damage the aluminum housing or strip the threads.

Thanks Ben81
