I'm thinking of replacing my rear spring before the trip to Carson City but have numerous questions:

1. What are the advantages of fiberglass vs. iron?

2. Why the differing weights on the fiberglass ones? (315 lbs vs 340 lbs vs 355 lbs)

3. Why would I choose one of the weights above and beyond the others?

4. What would C3VR do?

I have a 315lb TRW fiberglass spring on my 76.  The ride is smoother than the steel one was. The fiberglass spring is also much lighter. I have heard some people having ride height issues with some of the stiffer springs. They have used longer bolts to compensate but you have to watch out for tire and spring clearance. Some of the guys run the stiffer springs for improved handling.

Weight 9 lbs Glass vs 40 lbs Steel

VBP has 3 different spring 300# 330# 360#. The 300 is for all 80-82 Vettes the 330 will give better performance and the 360 is for BB's. If you go for a Mono-Spring you have to get shocks that are made for FiberGlass springs. Bilstien Sports or KYB GR-2 made for VBP

Vette(s): 1979, 350sb, as my kids affectionately call it "shit brown" Corvette purchased in 1996. 84,000+ miles. Not a show car, but I love her just the same.
Jim:
I also replaced my rear spring with the 330lb monospring.  Then a year later switched to the KYB shocks with the same damping ratio.  Couldn't be happier with the ride.  I no longer feel like every rotten bump on these Michigan roads is hitting me "literally" in the seat of my pants.

Go for it...I think you'll like it!

obviously the fiberglass is lighter than the steel. I replaced mined dtock springs with a TRW  330# which was  recommended for small blocks.I didn`t care for the ride. A little spongey form me I upgraded to the 360# spring . The longer bolts came wityh it so i had no hieght issues. And believe it or not I installed  Koni adjustable gas shocks all around. The ride is stiffer and handles nice, i wanted a hot rod so i wanted to feel the road.

I ordered the 340...from Madvet.... I've already got Bilstein shocks so hopefully it'll compliment them nicely
