Just finished the rear wheel bearings, spindels, s/s emerg. brake parts, shocks, bushings etc. on my '81. Stopped short of the rear spring. Will save that for a later project perhaps this winter. Just wanted to say thanks for all the input from you guys. I couldn't have done it without the help. You guys are great!

Jim, Did you buy all the special tools to pull that off or farm out some of the work
I've got all that to look forward to on one of the '78s, and the front end including control arm bushings.

Nah, I cheated a little. I bought the spindel and bearing assemblies preassembled, reused my flanges and t/a. The $ was close to the same had I bought the tools and mounted the bearings myself.
The set up tool would be all but a must in my opinion. The installation tool, I'm told by a few folks, isn't that great. I can't say as I've not used one.
I will say this though, the entire process was really a job. I opted to pull the spindel, support, and t/a as an assembly rather than to press the spindel out while on the car. Seems much easier to work on it that way to me. I haven't done anything on the front as yet.
