I am working on my 1980 suspension and have discovered there is no rear sway bar. Is this supposed to be stock or is it optional. If I install a rear sway bar will I notice a difference. If so, what will I notice? |headscratch|

The only suspension option in 1980 was the "gymkahana". It was RPO # FE7. It inluded a stiffer front anti-sway bar and heavier frt & rear springs. It did not have a rear bar. A rear bar will help if you drive in competition, or if you suffer from the kind of idiot drivers I have to avoid driving around Dallas!! It will make your car respond a little quicker turning. You have to make sure you don't go too big on the rear bar without also upgrading the frt. It can make the car a little "twitchy" |hammer| |thumb|

Mine is an 80 with Gymkahana and it came with a rear sway bar. You can lay her real hard into a turn and she will lay flat without rolling. I am glad to have it.
