Hey, 78SEvette. The posi clutches were the reason for my backwards circles.  A mechanic told me that I might influence the clutches by trying this.  The noise that I heard while doing this was different from the familiar brake pad clicking.  (I just rebuilt my front calipers and installed some shims to stop the clicking and squeeling on the fronts, so I'll do that to the rears, too.)  I am certain that I will need to replace all my universal joints when I get into the rest of the suspension.  My new tranni has a very firm 1-2 shift, and at low speed, the 1-2 shift results in a horrendous "slamming" noise in the drive train, which I am sure is either sloppy u-joints, or maybe the tranni itself.  (I bought it with a firm 1-2 shift intentionally.)  Anyway, thanks for all the heads-up and ideas.  I will be on the lookout for all these things.  Money permitting, all will be repaired, rebuilt, or replaced. 82delight2007-12-09 14:39:31
