I have been thinking about putting the coker silvertown tires on my car, anyone running these on your car. I was looking at 235/70R15 or closer to stock 235/60R15. I'm running 255/60R15 now but need to watch the turns with bumps.Confused

On one of my cars I have P215/70R15 redline tires from Diamondback, which are Cooper Cobras, and like them very much.  On a car I used to own I had Coker redlines on it and liked them as well.  They weren't the Silvertown but the Coker branded redlines.

To me it's basically a tossup which one might prefer.

For whatever it's worth, I have 6.70 x 15 Firestone Deluxe Champion 1-inch whitewalls that I got from Coker on my '64 but they ride terrible.  I knew they would and only got them because they are period-correct for my '64 Vette.

I think that's less a comment on Coker than the fact we've all become so used to quality radial tires that we've forgotten how bad those old technology skinny a$$ tires were and are.

When I first purchased my '69 it had a set of Goodyear Speedway F70-15 bias-ply 2-ply tires...and it rode terribly.  I had visions of a blowout on the road so one of the first things I did was put a set of quality radial tires on it.  The handling, ride, and peace of mind are much improved.

I had F70-15 on mine when I got it even tho they were polyglass they were rough thats  for sure. I think I'm going to try the 235/70R15's, I have a friend who owns a goodyear shop and i'm headed over to talk with him. I know the F70 was 26.90 Dia. I need to stay close to that.
