Does anyone have t-arms that have the relocated e-brake cable tab to move the cable away from the tire for extra clearance? I have VanSteel's arms and they come automatically with the relocated tab. I couldn't get the original-style cable to flex enough to work with the relocated tab, so I bought their rubber-coated cable (MUCH flexier than stock-style cable), but even though it bends around to follow stock cable routing, it falls short of reaching the frame bracket.

So, instead of routing as original (cable down OUTSIDE of t-arm, under t-arm and to frame brkt) I'm forced to run cable down INSIDE t-arm and to brake brkt. I'm wondering if anyone's had this issue with relocatd tabs and whether running the cable the new way will interfere with the flexible brake hose to the caliper (don't have them on yet to check).

Thanks, Patricia/'75

I don't have them installed on my car, but it is my unerstanding that the cable should now be routed on the inside of the trailing arm. I read an article awhile back in Vette Mag. where they relocated the tabs on the stock trailing arms to the top and routed the brake cable on the inside so their new P275 60R tires would clear. Hopefully someone else can confirm that for you. How did VanSteel advise to route?

Van Steel told me if I used their rubber-clad cable it would be flexible enough to follow the stock routing. No way! It's flexible but just not long enough to go that route and still reach the frame bracket. I have a fresh e-mail to them and I'll be curious what they advise now.

I'm glad to hear you've read the cable must be re-routed. I've tried everything and it seems the only way it can go. I was concerned about any contact with the flexible brake line hose, but perhaps it just isn't a problem. I 'll know more when I install the flex lines.

Thanks! Patricia/'75
