What level of difficulty is involved in removing the brake booster? Any tips on how to best go about it?
I want to apply the Eastwood Golden Cad System, but not at the expense of my sanity.

Hi there, hope you have alot of bandaids handy. My brake booster went South and what a job. I couldn't see the top two bolts, I even took the metal plate inside the wiper cove out and tried to access them from there. No luck. To make a long story short, I wound up taking the dash out, and the a/c vent on the drivers side out and with a real long extension and a swivel socket, I managed to get the top two bolts. Oh yeah, did I mention I had to take the column drop support all the way out. I'm a big guy, almost 6' and couldn't get under the dash. Takin the brake booster out is harder than taking the differential out, which is what is apart now.

Thanks for the link above and the other comments. It certainly has given me pause to reflect on how badly I want a nice looking booster.
I have a couple of smaller projects to do first and then will probably give the booster a try. Again, thanks for the "warnings."

Can be done....but almost as bad a replacing the core support. Yes you will need to lay upside down, on your back to get up in there - feet sticking out of the roof. I know this sounds stupid, but everybody does it this way. The two bottom nuts are easy, the top left will virtually kill you - they have plastic locks in the nuts too...so it is tight all the way. I think they put this part in first, along with the + battery cable, then built the car around it.

i didnt have nearly as much trouble taking it out as putting it back in..
and for some reason there are only three nuts holding mine on right now....
cant imagine why i would have done that though ??

Currently undergoing a frame-off resto. and modifications.YEEHAW!!!
After disassembling my vette completely, I decided to replace the booster. I used Eastwood's "Golden Cad" system on it, and WOW!!! This stuff is the shiznit. It really sets the booster off, and almost perfectly duplicates the cad. plating.
Two little suggestions, though. Don't go nuts with the green and red. Just a little mist, and I mean MIST in a few spots of each color is all you need.
Also, finish the job with a coating of clear coat. If this stuff ends up fading, or discoloring, it will look silly being sprayed with black, while the bottom is gold. And you don't want to take that SOB out again.
