I just purchased a set of 15x8 rally wheels. I want to clean/paint before mounting new tires.
My plan is to have them glass beaded and then power coated. I have someone in line to powder coat but I need to find the right color powder. Where can I buy and how many lbs are need for 4 rims?
Should i powder coat the back side same color as front or should it be black?
Anyone have any suggestions on tires (type, size, brand etc)? I was thinking about putting red-line wide ovals on it. (71 yellow convertible)

I have a friend who powder coats and is currently doing some bead work and caoting some parts for me. I will ask him on Friday. Argent silver is the correct color but I don't know what it is called in the powder world or the price.
I do know it depends on the volume used. He can do his normal colors fairly cheap. But, if he has to purchase a specialty powder the $$$ goes up. I'll repost on Friday what aI find out.
Redlines huh? Sounds vaguely familar..... Mine are BFG's made for Coker. I like them but they aren't for everyone. You'll find this out after you sit through a few car shows.....

Argent Silver is the correct name for the color. When I did mine, I just used regular urethane/clear, and had the local automotive paint supply store mix me up a quart by the formula. (They have that info)The quart did all four rims, with just a bit left over.
Be careful of the powder coating. You may need to grind/polish some of it off around the wheel lug-nut holes. That stuff goes on pretty thick at times, depending on the operator. Ya don't want to bolt the rims on, and have them get loose on ya a day later cause the powder coat kept the nutz from getting tight.

When I bought the new wheels for mine - I struggled to find the right color paint (argent silver) but I just cleaned them up and painted them - they still look great today with the rally beauty rings and center caps.
When I get a chance (and it's warmer outside) I'll try to take some better pictures and post them. Right now it's covered in the garage for the winter months. I hope to have the wheels and new tires completed by Spring. I need to have the new top installed . I've also got the hardtop but really hate putting it on and off.
Too much paint on anything will crack. Custom paint jobs on bodies often crack when the car is driven on the road due to thick layers.
I like that bright yellow. Almost as much as a bright red. Gotta love bright colors.
