Vette(s): 1978 Silver Anniversary Coupe Lt. Biege w/ Dark Brown Int. Happily owned since 1981.

Hey Gang!  I've done quite a bit of work which I'll list at the end of this. After completing the work, road testing, and using her for small trips around, the body seems to be lower in the rear than the front and also 1/4" lower on the left rear than the right rear .(measured on flat surface from the ground to the bottom center of the body fender). She looks high (body) in the front like I'm on a slight incline. (wish I could show a photo but I don't know how). Could it have anything to do with the rear spring mount kit? ( nut to low on bolt).

Here's what was done -

Front Susp. -
Upper & lower A arm bushings
Sway bar bushings
Ball Joints - upper & lower
Tie rod ends
Shocks
Upper & lower suspension bumpers

Rear Susp. -
Leaf spring (steel) 9 leafs
Spring mount kit
Strut rods & bushings
Trailing arm bumpers
Differential cushions
Shocks

Here's the measurements -
Left frt. - 29 3/4"
Rt. frt. -   29 3/4"

Left rear - 27 3/4"
Rt. rear -   28 1/4"

If anyone has any suggestions to level her off, please let me know. I hope I explained myself well enough so you can get a mental picture of this. Thanks in advance for any info.

Vette(s): 1975 C3 Red, T-Tops, Black Interior. All I need is time and money! Getting there!
Before you go from the body reading alone, check the corners of the frame near the wheels and see if you have the same relationship, or if the body is not square on the frame.

After that, depending on the type of rear spring bolts, the rear height is adjustable.  You may want to try adjustable bolts to level it off.

I am assuming that it was OK before the upgrades you made.
You will need to tighten the rear spring bolts to level it off, you did install both rubber mounts top and bottom?
Most of the time I have found with a new rear spring that I have to install the longer bolts to get the back end down...not up
Most measurments I get are 28" all the way around to the bottom of the top lip of the fender well, for the low sleak look.
The front springs are tricky at times to get in the proper place in the sockets and hard to see that they are in there, but if they are sitting up on the inside collar that will raise the front of the vette up, bin there, dun that, and fought it...but won.
Hope this helps
John

I just fought the same battle with my 78 after rebuilding front and rear suspension. My rear looked normal my front looked way to high. I never found the answer for the difference, everything was correct on my car and I inquired several places including here for answers. I did discover that  had Gymkhana Suspension which was an option in 78.  This suspension is much stiffer and has stronger front springs. I solved the problem by cutting 1 coil off of my front springs. Im very happy with the car now. It was recomended to cut 1/2 coil at a time.  Heres the measurements of my 78 now

REAR 28 1/2
FRONT 27 3/4

Maybe you can get other examples  but your rear seems to be correct

acplus is  correct about the pockets. Thats the first place to look for the front.  My springs were in their pockets but still set too high. Have you made any other changes that would have removed weight from the front end???

Vette(s): 1982CE,32,000 and counting. (fast!!) 1981 Vette, black on black. ZZ4 (quick!!)
Some times the front spring needs to settle. I have had that on a 69 Z/28 they settled down in about a month. Not sure about that. it was in a different life.
.i've got the Gymkona (sp) on my 82 CE. My 81 dont. There is a BIG difference. I wish my CE didn't have it.
