Is there an adjustment for the rear ride height after replacing my rear suspension it seems high. Will it drop when I have it aligned |headscratch|

After replacing the rear spring in "The Toy" I found that the more I cranked on the bolt/nut that passes through either end of the spring, the lower the rear of the car became. I'm not sure what the "correct" height should be (haven't looked it up yet), but you definitely want to make sure you keep enough clearance for normal suspension travel.

You might try the NCRS judging manual to see if it calls out a "standard" distance to ground from the bumpers. I have not changed any of my suspension and it "appears" to be stock but it rides about 3 1/2 inches higher than an NCRS car both front and rear and is very noticeable when parked next to a "correct" car. Not sure if this is an adjustment or something in the front and rear has been changed but still "looks" stock.

I fixed my problem by changing my bolts to 8"long grade 8 1/2 bolts. It brought the car down 2" just what it needed.

Vette(s): 1971 coupe, 270 hp, auto, air. 43K original miles. All original.
For a 71 (all early C-3's should be very close):
Front ride heigth - 8" from frame to ground measured 30.5" back from center of front wheel spindle.
Rear ride height - 7.9" from frame to ground measured 24" forward from center of rear spindle.
(Taken from AIM, Trim heights, page A-12).
These can vary as much as .5" depending on installed options. This also takes into account stock tire sidewall heights, which can be different than what you currently have. When replacing a rear spring, and NCRS is not a factor, buy the long mounting bolts with the nylock nuts and rear suspension is infinitely adjustable. Good luck.
K & M Restorations.
