From what I've been seeing many of you have some great looking rims on your cars. I've been looking to replace and save my original rims, but the selection that I find is very limited. American Racing has a decent selection, but their's are very common, Hopster, Thrush etc. Any other search I do for different suppliers rarely give me any options. What am I missing ? I would like to stay at 15 in. but willing to go to 16 as long as I don't have make any major alterations. Any suggestions ?

SOLD - "The Toy" - '70 Convertible

"BLUBYU" - '04 Coupe

One thing that was pointed out to me when I was looking at different rims was to seriously look at what was available in 17".  The main reason given was the tire selection was greater in 17" than 16".  So what do I do? - go with 16"!

I flipped back and forth between 5 spoke styles (ZR-1 look-a-likes) and 10 spoke styles (Z06 look-a-likes).  I eventually found the rims I liked on eBay and had to have 4" spacers custom made (also found eBay).  Tire selection was a little more limited as predicted but I went with TA Radials and am very happy with the combination of ride and handling.

Finished off the look with some red Bow-Tie center caps to replace the C4 style caps that came with the wheels.  Gotten a lot of compliments on the look which makes it worth it.  (The picture linked to in my signature was taken before the Bow-Tie center caps arrived.)

Thanks for the reply, at least I have a direction to go in. BTW your rims look great, what I like the most about them that I've never seen them on a C-3.

Thanks!  And happy hunting - there's a bunch out there to pick from.  If you haven't already done so check out the eBay Wheels/Tires auctions on the Shopping tab for some ideas.

Alot will depend on the type of of driving you do. This will help you to determine what you want from the perfomance of your tire selection. There are a gazillion combinations.
I went with the tire I wanted 1st and picked out the rims last.
