okay.  I know I've griped about this before...but...it's still not resolved, and I cannot drive the car without getting annoyed out of my mind at this.  so.  I had the street and slalom suspension from VBandP installed.  Now the ride is incredibly rough.  I feel every little depression in the road, and the rear end just generally bangs aroiund a lot driving in my neighborhood.  I know NOTHING about suspension, but I'm willing to crawl under there with a wrench, and play with whatever can be adjusted to see if I can find something that improves this INCREDIBLY agravating problem.  Anyone have suggestions on what it could be, or better yet, a guide to suspension adjusting for dummies?

i think you need to look at the hole suspension : what did you change from VBandP ? In combination with existing or new anti-rollbars ?        Stiffer springs need other shockabsorbers ...                                          What tyres /wheels are you using ?

Either you use a complete (proven )combination or go experimenting....

Wow, so many possibilities.   First try to get under the car and have someone bounce it up and down and sideways.  You will need to put the car on a drive on lift or a set of ramps.  You want the weight on the wheels.   If you can duplicate the noise, it's easy to find when under there.

I suspect that one of the bushings is out of place or damaged, and you are hitting metal to metal somewhere.

It appears that the "Street/Slalom" suspension is simply too stout for your preference. Those types of set-ups are usually WAY stiffer than stock.
Maybe you need to soften it up, by going to softer springs, and maybe shocks too, front & rear.
Have you contacted VB&P for their input?

Could it be that the VBP 360# spring is just too stiff for you?  Maybe a softer spring (the VBP touring spring is 330#) would be a better pick for you.  I installed the VBP street and slalom kit to my '77 and it was definitely a stiffer ride than stock.

probably just spring stiffness...I've never knowingly felt the difference between different springs.  all I know is, after installing that package, the rear end likes to bang whenever I hit any kind of bump.  I'll look into it.

I'm really looking for a setup that will be on par with the newer corvettes for comfort/handling.  this is definitely a street performance car.

Mike, when you say "bang", are you saying it makes a loud noise, like maybe something loose, or are you saying it is just really harsh, as in jolting? We may be talkin bout two different things here.

woo, C3VR's back!  I mean it's really harsh, and jolting.  No comfort in the ride at all.

Yup...sounds like you just have too stiff springs...might need to soften them up a step er two...
