Some of you may remember I replaced my rear spring with a stock 9 leaf from Muskeegon brake. It required the use of 8" bolts to get the right ride height. My problem was the width of the rear tires (275-50-15). When using the 8 " bolts, it put the ends of the springs into the sidewalls.
The solution......I found Guldstrand Motorsports in nearby Burbank. Owned and operated by Corvette racing legend Dick Guldstrand and specializing in Corvette suspensions. After asking me what kind of driving I mostly do, tire size and wheel offset and what shocks I have, they came up with a custom built 7 leaf. 1 1/2" shorteer than stock. I spent a couple hours yesterday installing it. It does require the 8 " bolts also. I now have the exact ride height as stocl, plenty of tire clearance and a great ride. Not too rough or too smooth. Handles great too. The spring costs the same as a mono spring, but I think I am sold on steel.....
