Vette(s): ' 76 Customized .Mid year rear window ( ' 67 style ). It has an '80 nose,'80 rear bumper , and a 76 hood . Also , I squeezed in a ' 94 Vette LT1 . Paint is a custom mixed BLACK with RED PEARL mixed in !

Any and all ideas are welcome guys .

I am in need of replacing the rotors on my ' 76 . I'm looking for good stopping power as the engine in it is now a '94 Vette LT-1 .

I know that the drilled has a tendency to crack over time .  . What I'd like is feedback to the idea of going with slotted . Any company you can recommend would be greatly appreciated

I also hear 'drilled' crack over time,& they arent necessarily a good choice for a street machine.Slotted and/or dimpled seems to be the more practical way to go.I havent upgraded to those yet,but I did get a better version of the stock rotors in combination with Hawk HPS (high performance street) pads. The difference was fantastic.Havent done any scientific comparison, but it feels like at least a 50% better stopping power.

I was leaning toward the slotted ones . There is a company ( just don't remember who ) that has slotted w/dimples . They seem interesting .

I also heard very good things about those pads !

I think I heard that Baer Brakes is now offering a service where they can drill and or slot OE factory rotors.

Put slotted on mine with upgraded break pads & noticed much better stopping & less pedal pressure (I have no power breaks) In fact I put slotted & better pads on 2 Chevy Cav's & it made a big difference.

I did notice some pedal pressure on mine, come to think of it . I thought it might have been the booster . Even it it was, it's going to be replaced with a new unit , not rebuilt .

Seems like the slotted is winning my trust !  A lil more research wouldn't hurt either.

Vette Brakes will give a 10% discount for members of some forums & clubs.I would ask about it.

[/QUOTE] I think when I upgrade next time it will be slotted,& possibly the cryogenically treated ones. They are sposed to last longer, stop better, etc. And with 17" wheels I guess I could go with larger rotors alsoC3RVETTE38603.5674421296

EBC makes rotors that are slotted and dimpled.  I put a set on my F-150 and the improvement was very noticeable.  My truck also seemed to eat through rotors and make them warp quickly, but I've been doing great with the EBC for a while now.  I plan to get them for the vette when I get new tires and wheels.
