Just finished a rebuild on my 77 steering box.Don't anyone be afriad to attempt ,it is quite simple, plus I had a handful of info to guide me through it.I got a rebuild kit from Bairs. All parts fit perfect. The box, like the car is/was low mileage,so It had virtually no wear.Washed everything in the parts tank, then glass beaded all pcs.The only info I couldn't locate was the quantity of grease when re packing,so I used a little common sense.BTW,Chevy used heavy oil in the box,my info said grease would be better because it won't leak as easily. Trailing arms next.

Thanks, Sounds like a good winter project. My service manual also says to use grease.

Good job!!
Ain't nuttin to it, right?
Lightweight chassis grease is definitely better, as far as leaks are concerned.
