A few months back I sent the steering column for my 1980 chevy truck to
gmtiltsteeringcolumn.com
they did a great job and i got it back quickly. I decided to send my corvette coumn in. when i got it out of the car i thought it looked pretty ragged. I got it back a few day ago. It looks superb.
He did grade A work and actually came in under his estimate.

I have the sterring column on my list; as soon as the speedo/tach get back in. I have completed the air/heat while waiting on speedo to return. I contacted an individual in Southlake Tx who rebuilds columns - his price is around 600.00. If you don't mind what is the price of you guy.

he has a base labor price of 79$ for tilt and 89 for tilt tele.
My truck is tilt only and was a rigged up column to start with. He asked if I wanted the cosmetics fixed and I said no. it cost about $126 with parts and return shipping.
my vette has tilt/tele, and needed quite a few parts, need the main casing welded, new bearings, had some parts missing and I wanted it cleaned up cosmetically. he gave me a quote of 450 and would up charging 387 with return shipping.

Got a number for your guy. I am putting a tilt/tele in my 78. There currently is a 76 in there I believe. Dont know why but thats what is in there. I have one I would like cosmetics done too and get in good repair.

We use Vanz auto here in MN. He is locally famous for his knowledge of steering columns. We have never heard a bad word about him or his work. 763-780-9080.
